A private session of Kama Kat Yoga is similar to a personal training session, in that I give all my attention to you while leading you through an exercise routine.

Each session consists of alignment-based yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques. I make sure to explain the anatomy and philosophy behind our practice, so that you have a complete understanding of why we do what we do.

Private sessions are typically in a 1-on-1 format. We must fill our own cup before we can give to another. After becoming aware of your personal practice, you can then practice with your partner in confidence.

What do private sessions help with?

I tailor each private session to your fitness and lifestyle goals. Most of my clients use our private sessions for learning how to increase their flexibility and to reduce stress. I specialize in teaching yoga to beginners, to strength trainers and athletes, and helping new moms to rebuild the pelvic floor.

Additionally, I offer a specialization in Taoist sexual energy cultivation that helps my clients to overcome sexual dysfunction, which broadly means any dissatisfaction in sex. Most of these male clients are working to prolong climax. Most of these female clients are working to access internal climax.

Who should book a private session?

I recommend a private session to anyone interested in a deeper connection with your Self. We practice the physical postures of yoga to help us make more space in the body, so that there is more room for breath to circulate. And breath is life. We become more aware of our connection to life—physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Can you have a private session if you've never done yoga before or aren't really flexible?

Absolutely! I specialize in teaching yoga to 'people who don't yoga'. In our private sessions, I will make sure to explain the anatomy and logic behind our practice in very simple terms.

Where do you teach?

I teach out of a private yoga studio. In Minneapolis, I teach out of a yoga studio in the Uptown area. In New York City, I teach out of a yoga studio in the Flatiron area.

I am happy to teach my clients in-home, though I usually require the first session to take place in my studio. For clients who live in a building with your own fitness and yoga areas, I will forgo the requirement to have our first meeting in my studio.

What should I wear?

Please wear clothing that is comfortable for moving into the postures—whatever you would usually wear for exercise.

What are the other logistics?

I will always have a mat and props available for you, but you can bring your own if you prefer. All that I ask of you is to arrive promptly and to wear clothing that is comfortable for exercise.

Each session is one hour in length. After each session, I will email you a recap of the exercises from our session, so that you can practice at home.
